Snapfixx Solutions Inc. ("we") operates an on-demand home services marketplace in Canada, covering IT and technology support, home cleaning, repairs and handyman services, and beauty and personal care. This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for Quebec residents, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).
What we collect
- Customers: name, email, phone, service addresses, booking history, ratings, payment card reference tokens (we never see or store card numbers — payments are processed by Stripe).
- Technicians: the above plus date of birth, SIN (for tax slips), government ID (verification only), certifications, insurance certificate, banking details (held by Stripe Connect), background-check results from our accredited partners.
Why we collect it
- To match customers with technicians and complete bookings
- To process payments and technician payouts
- To verify technician identity, qualifications and background
- To meet tax and legal obligations (CRA record-keeping)
- Marketing — only with your express opt-in consent (CASL)
Who we share it with
Payment processing (Stripe), background verification (accredited Canadian screening partners), insurance validation partners, cloud hosting (Canadian region), email/SMS delivery. Each vendor operates under a data processing agreement. We never sell personal information.
Where it is stored
Production data is hosted in Canadian data-centre regions.
Your rights
- Access: request a copy of your data — fulfilled within 30 days (PIPEDA) or sooner (Quebec).
- Correction: fix inaccurate data.
- Erasure: request deletion, subject to legal retention (e.g. 7-year CRA financial records).
- Portability: machine-readable export of your data.
- Withdraw consent: for marketing at any time via in-app settings or the unsubscribe link.
How long we keep it
- Financial and booking records — 7 years (Canada Revenue Agency requirement)
- Government ID images — deleted once background verification completes
- Chat messages — 90 days active, then 3 years archived and redacted
- Location data — deleted 24 hours after a job completes
- Consent records — 3 years minimum (CASL)
