How to read this rate card. The first number is what the user pays. The "Tech earns" amount is the technician's net payout (80% of the user price). SnapFixx keeps the remaining 20% as a service fee — see the next section for a full breakdown. All prices are CAD and include the SnapFixx service fee. HST/GST is added at checkout per province.

How a Job Is Priced & Paid

    Every service has a flat published price (see Rate Card). Same in every Canadian city.

    User sees the total before booking

    Service price + applicable surcharge + HST/GST = total. No hidden add-ons.

    User pays in-app at job completion

    Funds are held securely in escrow. If the work needs extra time, the technician requests user approval before adding to the bill.

    Parts billed separately, on actuals

    If hardware is needed, parts are billed at the retailer's actual cost with the receipt attached. SnapFixx does not commission parts.

    SnapFixx deducts a 20% service fee

    Covers vetting, BGV, matching, payments, support, dispute handling and the platform.

    Weekly payout — every Friday

    Completed jobs from Mon–Sun are batched and direct-deposited the following Friday. Parts cost is reimbursed 100% to the technician on the same payout.

Spare Parts & Hardware — Billed on Actuals

If a job requires hardware (router, mount, cables, hard drive, smart device, etc.), the technician and user must agree in writing inside the app before the part is purchased.

Parts are billed at the technician's actual retail cost, with the original receipt/invoice attached to the user's SnapFixx invoice for the job. SnapFixx does not mark up parts and does not collect a service fee on parts cost. The technician is reimbursed 100% of the parts cost on the next Friday payout.

Parts purchased without prior in-app user approval are not reimbursable and remain the technician's responsibility.

What does a SnapFixx visit cost?

SnapFixx uses a published flat-rate card. Most home jobs fall between $89 and $299. Custom hourly jobs run $99/hr. See the Rate Card section above — same price in every Canadian city.

How fast can a technician arrive?

In major Canadian cities, our average arrival time is about 45 minutes. The exact ETA for each available technician is shown live on their profile.

Why is there an activation fee for technicians?

The $79 covers the hard cost of background verification (~$50), credentials issuance, and platform onboarding. It also keeps applications serious. It's fully refundable if your application is rejected.

Who runs the background checks?

SnapFixx partners with Triton Canada (primary, used by Uber), Certn (API verification), Sterling Backcheck (enterprise screening) and ISB Global Services (compliance and Vulnerable Sector). See the Background Verification section above.

What if a job needs parts?

Parts are billed on actuals — the technician's retail receipt is attached to your invoice. SnapFixx adds no markup and takes no service fee on parts cost. Any part must be agreed in the app before purchase.

How does SnapFixx make money?

Can I request the same technician again?

Yes — save technicians as favourites and request them directly. Many users build a long-term relationship with one or two trusted pros.

What if I'm unhappy with the service?

SnapFixx Happiness Guarantee covers re-work or refund if the issue isn't resolved. Just open a dispute in the app within 72 hours of job completion.
